Lady is the most athletic horse I have raised, bar non. I put her in the round pen with her mother so they could walk around instead of being cooped up in a stall all day. Lady right away started loping large circles all the way around the pen. Most colts will charge across the pen then stop or trot, but Lady loped constantly and varied her speed. By that I mean she loped a couple fast circles and then a slow circle or two. I have never seen this before. Even today as a yearling she lopes as a gait of preference.
