My horses, are of the best quality or I do not advertise them. Most horses on my website are home grown on my own place here in Bellingham Washington. I am retired now and have time to find good horses for sale that I purchase and resell. I have a few of those in training right now I will only advertise horses when I am sure they will make a fine trustworthy mount for you.
I started riding in the late 40's and still ride and train horses. The first horse I remember being on was a shetland pony named Babe I was little then so I mainly sat on Babe, but I can still remember the creaking of the leather in the saddle and the smell of the pony.
When I was 6 or 7 years old I wanted a horse, my stepdad said if I could catch Mac I could ride him, guess what, yep I caught the horse and he was a big one a Percheron Draft Horse. You see we never did have a tractor, that was a riding horse and our tractor. I hauled logs out of the woods, and manure out of the barn with him. I rode Mac for 5 years then I found out Mac was sold for $50 and I rode him 8 miles to deliver him, was a sad day!
When I was 12, I bought my first riding horse for $90, a black mare. There were 3 problems with this horse, a big knee, she was pregnant, and she was unbroke. I thought she was the best horse in the world and the knee never bothered her , she produced a Blue Roan filly, and I broke her with the help of my neighbor Si who helped me halter break her, had to rope her, she really was unbroke never been touched by human hands. Later I paid a guy to ride her once, cost 25$. Next day I went down the road to Si's place, he was a dairy farmer and I remember looking at all the sharp steel things and equipment that my horse bucked among through and over. I stayed on and she never bucked again. By the time I got married when I was 17, I had a herd of seven horses all out of those two mares. Hard to believe 40 years latter I am still in the horse business.
