Horse Training Tip
There is a simple horse training tip that can make all the difference in your relationship with your horse. What's this relationship stuff? Simply everthing, if this is a horse you want to trust, be safe and respect you, that's what a relationship is!
This is my #1 horse training tip
This is Blue Canal Fisher, my blue roan quarterhorse stallion. I bought him at 5 months old and started him this year at 6 years old. Why wait till he was six? Well I have all the standard excuses, I waited for him to mature, I was busy, I was hurt for a while, I had business to attend to...however because I had been usiong this one simple horse training tip, I was able to survive my period of inaction :- )
The horse training tip I want you to learn is this one. Using my lefthand on Blue's nose I ask him to move his nose to the left and then I release the presure as soon as he gives at all. I only ask for a little give at first and then release, after about a week I ask him to give more and hold that give for longer periods of time.
Because I taught Blue to give to my hand pressure using this simple horse training tip, he has no problem giving to the rope halter that I started him in, this is his second ride.
I normally ride with both legs against my horses side, using this horse training tip concept; if I move my left leg off Blue side, my right let pushes him to the left. Note how Blue will move his head, because he understands this one simple horse training tip.
Once I get Blue giving to the left and the right equally, I then ask him for a soft feel with both reins, again I am just riding him in a rope halter. I like to do this so I do not hurt the horse and gain his respect and trust. I have doubled the effectivness of this horse training tip by using it on both sides at the same time.
Here is the proof of this one horse training tip working. Blue is relaxed and willing and remember this is his second ride, but I have been using this giving and release concept for 5 years so when I did ride he was right there with me, a very willing partner.
